My son is 7 years old and has suffered with chronic eczema all his life. Unless you’re a parent of someone that suffers with this condition you have no idea of the severity of the problem and the impact it has on the child’s life and the family. It is as one doctor said to me a curse. It is the lack of sleep that really worries me as it seems to aggravate him more in bed. I was told by my doctor to give him a drug to help him sleep to break the cycle of the itch, to stop the bleeding, let the skin heel and stop having to use steroids, which makes sense but I  just felt uncomfortable with this. My older two boys had baby eczema but thankfully grew out of it. The cream I used for them which helped control it, didn’t even touch the sides for my youngest son. I have tried so many different products, lots of natural products, tried any remedy possible that has worked for others. We have been to the doctor, referred to a dermatologist, paid to go private, had allergy testing done, cut out certain food groups and nothing has helped! He wears mainly cotton clothes, has special pyjamas. I wash his bedding at 60 degrees, his clothes goes in the tumble dryer to kill off pollen which do help but still he is suffering.
