The Heart & Soul Behind Āhua

Āhua was born from a mother's intuition.

When two of my children struggled with eczema, and I myself suffered with dermatitis, I searched for something truly pure, safe, and effective. Yet everything I found seemed to fall short, often filled with unnecessary fillers, harsh ingredients, and hidden synthetics.

As an artist, lifelong wellness advocate, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in training, I've always been fascinated by the connection between nature, nourishment, and wellbeing. Our skin is remarkably intelligent, constantly working to protect, restore, and maintain balance. What we apply to it has the power to either support these processes or disrupt them.

Trusting that nature already held many of the answers, I began creating my own formulations. What started as simple remedies for my family evolved into a collection of thoughtfully crafted skincare, made with ingredients the skin recognises and responds to.

Through years of research and refinement, I discovered a powerful synergy between organic New Zealand grass-fed tallow, healing botanicals, and therapeutic plant oils. Every Āhua formulation is created with the same intention: to nourish and support the skin using ingredients that work in harmony with its natural processes. Each ingredient is chosen with intention, sourcing the highest quality form available to ensure every jar delivers both purity and performance.

My background as an artist continues to shape everything I create. I’m drawn to balance, beauty, texture, and the quiet wisdom of nature. Every detail is considered, because skincare should be as beautiful an experience as it is effective.

In a world of excess and quick fixes, Āhua is an invitation to return to what matters. Pure ingredients. Intentional rituals. And skincare that honours the innate intelligence of the skin.

Thank you for being here and for supporting a small New Zealand business built on care, craftsmanship, and connection.

With love,
